    Garnet Mimms & the Enchanters are great. Sounds alot like old Solomon Burke, same type of songs, but different voice. Great back up singers, similar to the Raylettes or the Ikettes. Every song is a winner. Once yoo hear the original version of Cry Baby, you'll never want to hear the Janis Joplin vesion again/5(10).

    Excellent compilation of this early soul singer, whose influence extended beyond his one big hit, the title track. Emerging from a gospel background and obscure doo wop groups, Mimms invested the increasingly sophisticated R&B sound of the mid-'60s with both emotion and supple pipes. He never hit the Top Ten after "Cry Baby," but rang off a string of minor hits like "Baby Don't You Weep.
